director | dramaturg | producer
I am a theatre director,  dramaturg, producer and educator once again based in my Sweet Home Chicago,  after spending over four years in Texas, where I earned an MFA and grew to love a good hot sauce. While at UT Austin, I sharpened my skills developing new plays with a cadre of the most exciting new voices in the American theatre. I also love to re-imagine classic texts, approaching canonical plays with the same energy and freshness as if their authors just handed me their new pages.

From 2007 to 2012, I served as Artistic Director of New Leaf Theatre, where I worked with an incredible team on the world premieres of Burying Miss America, Redeemers, The Man Who Was Thursday, Lighthousekeeping, and Vox Pandora, as well as revivals of The Dining Room (Joseph Jefferson Award Nomination – Best Director) and Arcadia.

Other productions that made me proud include the world premiere of Hideous Progeny (LiveWire Chicago), and Orange Flower Water (BackStage Theatre Company), as well as readings for Theatre Seven of Chicago, Chicago Dramatists, and Goodman Theatre.

As an arts administrator, I held positions at Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare, the University of Chicago, and the League of Chicago Theatres.

I'm fascinated by new methodologies of play development, the uses and limits of technology as a collaborative tool, empowering female voices in the evolving American theatre, and the re-envisiong of canonical works. I am a proud member of LMDA and associate of SDC
